Legal Accounting Clerk
Job Description:
Boutique Litigation firm in immediate need for an Accounting Clerk for head office.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing & Invoicing: Preparing, reviewing, and sending client invoices; tracking billable hours and disbursements.
- Trust Accounting: Handling client trust accounts in compliance with State Bar of California regulations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processing vendor payments, check requests, and recording client payments.
- Data Entry: Posting financial transactions to ledgers using legal accounting software.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling bank accounts and managing inter-account transfers.
- Reporting: Assisting with the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and financial reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with legal-specific accounting software (e.g., Clio, Tabs3, Aderant) and MS Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
